Getting closer

Porch tiling being laid.
The tiler, Jessica is very friendly and professional.
Husband and wife team. Her husband was in the ensuite grouting the wall tiles
 Double entry doors opened
All internal doors have a coat of gloss now
Laundry door also has a coat of gloss..
Kinda like the wooden finish, but not to be.

Painting

Leisure room with the first coat of paint on the walls.
The ceilings and cornices look like they might be finished!
Kitchen and dining
Colours are not identical on ceiling and roof. Wall paint is 'white smoke'
Main bathroom. Wall tiles still need grouting.
 Laundry
Ensuite shower. Wall tiles still to be grouted.

Tiling high

Today has seen the wall tiles going in the two bathrooms.
The tiles are not full wall height, but are higher than I thought they'd go.
The floor tiles have been grouted.

The tiler says they'll be finished in 2 days. They're hoping to tile the porch, but are waiting on it to be gyprocked, so as to prevent any scratches to the porch tiles.

Ensuite. The strip to the right there is for the feature tiles.

Ensuite again.
Main bathroom. The chrome floor waste is in. :)

Wisdom goes up a peg

Warren called today and said he'd looked at the laundry door and agreed the door was too close to the internal wall, and he'd fix it.
What he didn't mention was that they were already working on it. Turned up this afternoon and it had all been taken care of. All finished.
Very impressed, and very pleased.
The wet area tile beds had also been finished, Warren says the wet area tiles will be going in next week, then the painters will be in for a couple of weeks, then the main area flooring goes in.
5-6 weeks before we'll be in.

RESULT!

Kitchen, completed. Just waiting on the caesarstone tops
Outdoor leisure. Awesome outdoor space!
Cornice completed.

Porch tiles had arrived, so I checked the colour match. After the separate colour, kitchen and tile appointments, you're never 100% on how things will look together until they are. These choices were made back in February and March.

Sneak peak of the fitout

Another quick driveby this afternoon, and the cabinet guy was there fitting the bathroom cabinet, and he kindly let me stroll around for a couple of minutes. He said he'd be back tomorrow for the kitchen.

Ensuite cabinets.
Licorice Linear is the finish on the doors and drawers.
This ensuite is larger than the single family bathroom in the house we're currently living in. We'll be rattling around in the new house with all this room!
Drain pipes are enclosed in the walls. I like this design of not having kick boards beneath.

Eneff room to pork your cor

So Tony Greig would say.
The garage door was being installed this morning. Some more sand has been delivered, probably for the tile cement, but not 100% on that. And from the view through the rear windows, appears the kitchen, laundry and bathroom cabinets have been delivered.
Still unsure when painting takes place. If it's after the fittings, then there'll be a lot of unpainted gyprock just out of sight.

This is the external door from the laundry. For some reason the door is almost flush with the internal wall. I've asked Warren to check into this. It's the only door in the house with half a frame, and is not aligned with the internal access door to the laundry.

The garage door, almost complete. We were worried about the colour until today, since we couldn't exactly picture how it would look, but it looks great!

Lock em up

Warren called. The doors and cornices and light fittings are going in today.
Next week, the waterproofing, tiling and kitchen/laundry will be fitted.
Not sure when the painting gets done. Would have thought before the flooring goes in.

WOW! The doors haven't been clear-glazed yet, they look kinda raw, and there's some barging that still needs to be fitted around them.
The entry. The sparkie had just moved to the next room after placing the light fitting here.
Cornices. Decorative in the living areas, and standard curves in the bedrooms.
More cornice!
 Pantry doors are on.
Laundry door. I don't remember specifying wood finish, but that's what we got.
From the dining room.
The guys doing the doors were having lunch in the study, they might be finished today by all accounts.

Sunday 1 July 2012

Gyprockin' all night long.

After just 2 days, the walls and ceilings are in.
For some reason it makes the interior appear even bigger.

From the laundry through to bedroom 2
Family leisure. This entire space is very large and will dwarf any furniture we currently have.
 Master bedroom.
 Media room.
From the leisure room through kitchen to entry.
